Naturally, our teams have mostly been working from home since mid-March and our meetings are taking place mainly online. We miss each other and the office dynamic, while UNIGLOBE Alliance Travel<\/a><\/strong> we miss doing the research to find the best routes and deals for our business travellers and, at goMICE, organising unforgettable trips and events.<\/p>\n Over the past 6 weeks, both UNIGLOBE Alliance Travel (business travel) and goMICE (group department for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Events) have focused primarily on:<\/p>\n Duty of Care is of paramount importance to us. Over the past few weeks, we have therefore successfully repatriated thousands of business travellers and around fifty groups from all over the world, in cooperation with our key airline partners. By means of a list display (a single click within our system), we are able to find out within a few minutes where the business travellers and groups are located per company.<\/p>\n Of course this is our work, however over the past few weeks we have only been able to get this job done with extra manpower, many overtime hours and additional weekend shifts. Kudos to our teams.<\/p>\n We have rescheduled or cancelled thousands of planned business trips and around 150 MICE group trips and events.<\/p>\n We have gone above and beyond to negotiate the best deals with our suppliers to keep rebooking or cancellation costs to an absolute minimum. Not just once, but two or three times we went back to our suppliers for a single booking. Thousands of emails and phone calls went back and forth for that, with just one goal: to achieve the maximum result for everyone (taking the suppliers' situation into account, as they have also been affected).<\/p>\n Our sales team has contacted all customers to find out if we as an organisation could be of service anywhere else, but also to hear how they are getting on in this hugely challenging period. The stories are very diverse. In one sector things are going very well (for now) and in another sector heavy blows are being dealt.<\/p>\n Despite everything, a great deal of gratitude is frequently expressed to us as an organisation, and our services, commitment, resourcefulness and willingness to go the extra mile have been particularly highly appreciated over the past few weeks. We are grateful for all those wonderful responses to our efforts, even though this is \u201cjust\u201d our job. A selection of some wonderful quotes that make us proud:<\/p>\n Despite the enormous hustle and bustle, during this time we also felt called upon to selflessly offer our services to companies that have not engaged a corporate travel agency for their booking. As a result of our social media call in mid-March, we were frequently approached by travellers who had no help from an agency like UNIGLOBE Alliance Travel or goMICE when researching alternative travel advice. In this way, we have been able to contribute to the repatriation of even more stranded travellers. Because nothing is worse than being stranded and not knowing how you can get back home.<\/p>\n We are proud of our teams, of their resilience and boundless dedication. Meanwhile, everyone is safely back home, journeys have been rebooked or cancelled, and we are entering a phase of administrative processing.<\/p>\n It was busier and more frantic than ever, it was truly madhouse, with panic among travellers about whether they would be able to get back, concerns about tickets, rescheduling and cancellations, and airlines constantly changing their terms and conditions and therefore the ticket conditions too. There were also major concerns about groups who were already abroad. Nevertheless, our team pulled out all the stops to provide everyone as quickly as possible with the right information and possible alternatives.<\/p>\n As is well known, our industry is going through a challenging time. But there is always light at the end of the tunnel! When the airspace reopens, we are allowed to fly again and we can once again Meetings <\/strong><\/a>be allowed to organise, then we hope that you will find us again and your business, Group holidays<\/a> <\/strong>and Events<\/a> <\/strong>allowed to organise and provide once again with full passion and energy.<\/p>\n\n
