Madrid, a fantastic destination for a group trip<\/h2>\n

At goMICE, we regularly go on inspections both at home and abroad to gain fresh inspiration, make new contacts and meet with our regular suppliers. This allows us to stay up to date with all the ins and outs of the destination, negotiate the best prices and continue to innovate and surprise with our bespoke proposals. Every inspection is different, but one thing is always the same: it always requires the necessary preparation to make it a successful and valuable inspection.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, I, Nadia de Bruijn, set off together with our Managing Director, Anita van Maanen. On the agenda were meetings with our regular suppliers and the search for new hidden gems, amongst other things!<\/p>\n

Oh no, a delay!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

After checking in at Schiphol, it turned out that our outbound flight was delayed by over two hours. We had spent many hours creating the inspection schedule so that we could make good use of every minute on-site. However, the delay forced us to revise our tight schedule. After making a few phone calls, we were able to adjust the schedule and board the plane with peace of mind. Despite this \u2018false start\u2019, the inspection was once again very successful and we are therefore happy to share some valuable tips and highlights with you once more!<\/p>\n

Ready, steady, go!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Arriving in Madrid, we took a taxi to our hotel. We checked in at a brisk pace, handed over our suitcases and immediately asked for our contact person so that the first inspection could get underway straight away. The hotel where we stayed is relatively new, and this was therefore our first introduction to it. The difference between photos shown on the internet and reality can sometimes be significant. It is therefore important to evaluate the hotel using a pre-prepared checklist. Are the rooms neat and clean? Are the rooms noisy? And what kind of view do the rooms offer? Our checklist was used for this, among other things, for the various room types, the lobby, the restaurants and the other facilities. Naturally, we do not want the restaurant or the spa, for example, not to fit the desired picture.<\/p>\n

Following the hotel visit, we visited several other hotels on and around the Gran Via during the afternoon and evening. The Gran Via is one of the main streets in Madrid and, partly due to its central location, is a great place to stay. From here, many restaurants and activities are within walking distance, which is, of course, ideal when visiting a cosmopolitan city.<\/p>\n

Madrid bursts with energy and has a huge array of restaurants and bars, which the locals themselves also love to frequent. A real, and literally high, highlight of the city are Madrid's gorgeous rooftop bars. To give two examples:<\/p>\n
