Inspection trip to vibrant Singapore & bounty island Koh Samui \u2013 part 1<\/h2>\n

For one of our loyal clients, we have the pleasure of putting together several trips each year. One of them usually takes place in Europe and the other trip outside Europe. This time, the continent of Asia was chosen, specifically Singapore combined with Koh Samui. And naturally, going on an inspection trip for this is no hardship. It was going to be a long inspection, as this client's trip will also take up quite a few days. The company is celebrating its anniversary year, so they are really going all out. In this blog, I, Managing Director Anita, will take you to vibrant Singapore and the bounty island of Koh Samui, and share various hotel, activity, and restaurant tips!<\/p>\n

Customer preference<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The wish is to stay in Singapore with about a hundred participants in a fantastic hotel with diverse facilities on the one hand, and to explore the city in the field of retail combined with bites in the various multicultural neighbourhoods on the other. In addition, a combination was desired with another high-end environment for leisure, relaxation and exploration of Thai cuisine.<\/p>\n

Well, we didn't have to think twice about that. Because less than a two-hour flight from Singapore lies the marvellous Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand. The island has everything you could possibly wish for: sunshine, wonderful hotels, beaches and fantastic Thai cuisine. In addition, the island is surrounded by other stunning islands which can be reached by boat or various speedboats.<\/p>\n

Off to Singapore!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On 26 April we boarded the KLM flight, with a transfer in Paris and continuing with Air France to Singapore. With a 12-hour flight ahead of us and a busy schedule at our destination, it was very nice that we were able to fly business class with both airlines again. Travelling this way is simply a lot less tiring. I would gladly give some extra attention to the crew, the service and the quality of the food with Air France, as all the meals were top-notch once again.<\/p>\n

First-class Marina Bay Sands Singapore<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In Singapore we had a number of hotels on our shortlist, but we already knew in advance that Marina Bay Sands<\/a> for 100% would align with the client's wishes. It was up to us to manage to get this hotel to fit within the set budget as well. If this were not to work out, we certainly had a number of other hotels in the Marina in mind. For instance, we would visit the Mandarin Oriental and the Fullerton hotel, among others. And if these were not to fit, we still had the Park Royal Collection as a backup.<\/p>\n

So the Marina Bay Sands was our favourite and we were overwhelmed once again by this amazing hotel and its management. Despite the hotel having 2,500 rooms, it still feels intimate. Furthermore, this hotel has everything! Not only the AMAZING infinity pool on the rooftop, but also some 40 great restaurants, clubs and the city's largest shopping mall is connected to this hotel. Actually, you don't even need to leave the hotel, but of course that was the plan with this group!<\/p>\n

On the day of arrival we landed in the late afternoon and immediately took a dip in the hotel's infinity pool. This is such a wonderful once-in-a-lifetime experience with the Singapore skyline and the harbour opposite. This will definitely be included in the travel itinerary; a welcome drink at restaurant and cocktail bar Spago, located by the pool. For those who wish, it will then be possible to cool off in the pool. This would make for a great start to the trip.<\/p>\n

That evening, dinner at the restaurant Cut by Wolfgang Puck was on the agenda. This restaurant is famous for its steaks, which we naturally tried. Guaranteed success for a fantastic first evening!<\/p>\n

Bike and bite tour and street food for 100 people!\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The next day, a bike tour was scheduled with our regular local supplier. For the group, we had come up with a bike and bite tour, which we wanted to test-ride ourselves beforehand. The tour goes via Chinatown, Little India, Little Malaysia, etc., where a typical snack is provided at each location. In this way, the participants can explore the city while simultaneously getting acquainted with local dishes.<\/p>\n

A free day would also be included in the programme. For this, we always pass on lunch and dinner suggestions to the participants. For a quick but tasty bite to eat, we recommend Breadtalk for delicious sandwiches to go and Din Tai Fung for the best dim sum. Everything is visibly and freshly prepared and is utterly delicious.<\/p>\n

\"Inspectiereis<\/p>\n

Leaving Singapore without visiting Lau Pa Sat (our favourite street food spot) means you haven't been to Singapore. So, naturally, we went there again to discuss whether we could arrange this for the group. This is always a challenge because the vendors are all different business owners, and yet we managed it. There is one vendor who always stands out in terms of quality, and that is the vendor of stalls 8 and 9 here. Recognisable by the longest queues, which says it all! With him, we managed to reserve tables for the group of around 100 people. This is truly exceptional, as it is not really a place where you can make reservations.<\/p>\n

The following day we flew to the Thai island of Koh Samui, where we visited luxury hotels, a gorgeous beach club, viewpoints and stunning natural areas for the travel show.
