CASE: 5-day sales incentive trip to stunning South Africa!<\/h2>\n

Last year, Lotte, Diewertje, Amy and Dian travelled to sweltering South Africa with 170 people for a 5-day sales incentive trip for our client from the white goods industry. The aim of the trip was to give the participants, in a short space of time, a the complete South African experience<\/em> to experience, to strengthen the relationship between the sales team and the owners of the sales branches, and to create memories that would be talked about for a long time to come. How did this client achieve these goals? In this blog, we'll take you on an adventure through the travel programme!<\/p>\n

The ultimate South African experience! <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Day 1 & 2: All the beauty of Cape Town!<\/h4>\n

The first day consisted of the 11-hour flight to Cape Town; the starting point of the journey and the location where we would also be staying for the first 3 nights. The group was immediately warmly welcomed at the hotel with drinks and beautifully prepared platters of various finger foods. The welcome speech from the client took place in the same room, as did the express check-in, allowing everyone to get to their rooms in no time.<\/p>\n

Good morning Cape Town! Today is dedicated to all the beauty that Cape Town has to offer. Accompanied by local guides, the group discovered the special places and stories of the modern and historical side of the city on foot.<\/p>\n

After the city walk, we continued our journey to Camps Bay, where we enjoyed a delicious three-course lunch with views over the white sandy beach and the wild sea. Of course, a visit to Cape Town isn't complete without setting foot on Table Mountain! But before we reached the summit of Table Mountain, we experienced \u2018load shedding\u2019 at the cable car station. This refers to planned power outages designed to prevent the South African electricity grid from becoming overloaded. As a result, the cable car's speed was significantly reduced, and in this instance, it truly was a case of \u2018patience is a virtue\u2019. Once we arrived at the top of Table Mountain, a surprise awaited us \u2013 drinks were ready for us to enjoy a tipple together with panoramic views over the city.<\/p>\n

It's a regular occurrence for the view from Table Mountain to be obscured by a thick blanket of cloud, but luck was on our side and with a clear blue sky, we were promised a phenomenal view that day. And there was no lie in that! The photos speak for themselves\u2026<\/p>\n

\"CASE:<\/p>\n

Day 3: Choice activities, penguin spotting and traditional 14-course African dinner!<\/h4>\n

While temperatures in the Netherlands start to rise in May, autumn begins in South Africa during this period. This was clearly noticeable on this day with dark clouds, rain, wind, and a drop in temperature. We checked whether all participants were still happy with their activity choices and had arranged a last-minute bus tour for those who preferred to stay dry. However, the majority of the group was eager for the chosen activities planned for the day: RIB boat sailing and kayaking from Hout Bay, where many seals can be spotted, and a cycling tour of Cape Point. It was a wet activity for everyone, yet everyone returned with a big smile on their face!<\/p>\n

Besides the seals, wild baboons, ostriches and zebras were also spotted this day, and a visit was paid to Boulders Beach; the habitat of the African penguin. Very special!<\/p>\n

The afternoon concluded with a visit to the southernmost point of the Cape Peninsula: the Cape of Good Hope. The spot that is seen as marking the transition between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean.<\/p>\n

After the intensive day, it was time for a quick freshen-up at the hotel before the authentic African dining experience at GOLD restaurant<\/a> got underway! A fantastic restaurant where live entertainment was provided throughout the evening and where everyone received beautiful face paint decorations. We always try to incorporate various surprise elements for the participants, and this was no exception! Before dinner began, we found ourselves in a djembe workshop. What energy was unleashed!<\/p>\n

Day 4: Safari game drive & celebration evening<\/h4>\n

Spotting the magnificent Big 5 is one of the first things that comes to mind when planning a trip to (South) Africa. This therefore could not be missing from the itinerary to experience the full South African adventure! Approximately 2.5 hours from Cape Town, a beautiful Game Reserve can be found, where a safari experience awaited the group. With a ranger at the wheel of the sturdy open-top truck, the group set off to spot the wide diversity of animals. Apart from the leopard, all other animals on the Big 5 list could be ticked off after this drive!<\/p>\n

After the game drive, a transfer followed to the winelands, where the group would be staying in Somerset West. After some relaxation at the hotel, the evening kicked off with a South African braai and continued into the party night where the DJ kept everyone on the dance floor until the early hours. Throughout the evening, the goMICE team remained constantly attentive: were the drinks being refilled and offered sufficiently? Did the food meet the expected quality? Was everything running to schedule? Was the right music being played? All to ensure that the evening ran flawlessly for the client.<\/p>\n

Day 5: Tasting, smelling, blending and experiencing South African wines!<\/h4>\n

Day five, and with it our last day of travel. After a late check-out, we set off for the wine village of Franschhoek, where we visited a beautiful wine estate. Here, the group was introduced to South African wines through a wine and cheese pairing, a tour of the estate, and blending and bottling their own red wine. A lovely souvenir to take home!<\/p>\n

The trip then concluded at Boschendal Estate<\/a>. Due to the fresh weather, we decided to move the outdoor picnic lunch indoors. The cosy fires and live music provided a warm welcome for the group. Finally, the dreamy sunset added the final magical touch to the trip!<\/p>\n

It was a trip with a golden edge! For both the participants and for us!<\/p>\n
