On Thursday 15 December, the time had finally come. With the entire team from UNIGLOBE Alliance Travel and goMICE, we went on an educational and inspirational trip done. This year Munich, Bad Gastein and Salzburg were on the itinerary.
Setting up a remote office
On Thursday 15 December, I flew to Munich with 10 consultants. The following day, the remaining 30 employees were to board a plane. The reason for this was as follows. To ensure our clients experienced no disruption on Friday due to our partial absence on that day, we set up an office for 10 consultants at the Novotel in Munich.
On Friday the rest of the team flew over and the 10 consultants took over the work for the day. Everything went seamlessly. Our priority remains, of course, to provide our clients with the best possible service, and this was achieved!
Exploring Munich

Restaurant tip in Munich
When you are in Munich we can warmly recommend the Ratskeller, beneath the Rathuis (town hall). We had a wonderful meal there. A super cosy restaurant and well set up for both the local individual guest and groups. Delicious German dishes are served there and it is very cosy.
From Munich to Bad Gastein
In the afternoon it was time to leave Munich. We picked up the hard-working colleagues and left for Bad Gastein. With 4 emergency phones on the bus, a few travellers and business associates were still assisted with urgent queries. With the phone to the ear and the laptop on the lap, questions were answered and flights rebooked. Naturally, it's wonderful how this is possible in the digital age.
Bad Gastein
At around 19:00 we arrived in Bad Gastein and it was time to have a drink at the bar. The Mondi Bellevue hotel is a pleasant hotel with both rooms and apartments for 1 or more people. They offer comfortable rooms that are fully equipped.
The next day was all about getting acquainted with the ski hire, ski school and several hotels and restaurants. In addition, 4 guides were ready to take us on an exploratory tour on skis or snowboards.
After this trip we knew everything about the area and the slopes. Rather nice when you send many groups that way every year. Bad Gastein has for years been a resort where we have guided many groups, varying from 10 to 200 people. Perhaps an idea for you sometime? The evening in Bad Gastein
On our way we visited a few more restaurants and had lunch on the terrace of Rossalm. The weather was lovely so we were able to sit outside in the sunshine. We certainly made the most of that!

The Christmas dinner
That evening was all about the Christmas dinner. Perched on top of a mountain, accessible only by a single-seater chairlift, we set off around 20:00 towards the Bellevue Alm restaurant. The atmosphere there is unique, and when you are also served a fantastic menu, it is simply wonderful.
Because we appreciate all our employees so much, we had also arranged for a Father Christmas. He handed out Christmas presents to all the employees. And a recurring annual phenomenon are the presents for all the employees' children. Small tokens, but very nice when mum or dad comes home again.
We also think of those staying at home when we travel to gain knowledge. On Friday, chocolate Christmas puzzles were delivered to about 40 locations across the country. After all, the home front has to manage a weekend without mum or dad/partner. After dinner, another surprise awaited everyone. The chairlift was replaced by sledges and the toboggan descent could begin! It was hilarious and a fantastic finale! Also a nice ending for your next Group trip perhaps?
The following morning it was time to leave again. One final stop in Salzburg, including exploration of the city and restaurants, after which we left for Salzburg airport.
Just a nice lunch to finish it off in restaurant Gablerbräu And that was it.
On the way to the airport I looked around the bus and saw smiling and tired faces, but brimming with new inspiration. Inspiration that we will use once again to serve you even better!
The following day we were completely surprised when at 6.30 in the morning there was a Santa Claus at our front door. The Santa Claus came to bring a gift, a poem and all kinds of treats to thank us for the wonderful educational weekend.
A lovely gesture, for which we are very grateful!
