The spectacular UNIGLOBE Convention and Awards Show
Saturday 14 April 2018 was the day: the annual UNIGLOBE convention took place once again. The highlight? The award ceremony! Over recent years, we have been fortunate enough to win many wonderful awards. Would we be among the prize winners again this year? Read on quickly to find out.
This annual event is not only about the awards ceremony. The day is primarily intended to bring all UNIGLOBE colleagues together, to learn from each other and to be inspired by interesting speakers.
We at goMICE were welcomed early in the morning at the Kookfabriek in Amsterdam. After a delicious cup of coffee, we started the day with a super fun canal cruise through Amsterdam.
En route, calls were made at various suppliers, including the Hotel de L’Europe and the Heineken Hotel. Surprise! Two hotel employees came aboard and, naturally, special Heineken beers were handed out. At the same time, the lunch buffet was opened. The party had begun!
Interesting speaker
After cruising through the canals for about two hours, we headed back to the Kookfabriek, where an inspiring speaker took us into the future. In various ways, we discovered which challenges would come our way, but most importantly, we learned how to respond to them as effectively as possible.
The awards ceremony
Finally, it was time for the awards ceremony. This time it was presented by Peter Heerschop. What a fantastic personality he is! Once again, we managed to win some wonderful awards!
Spot on!
First, the “Business Travel Consultant of the Year” award was scooped up by Bianca Huijbregts! The final two awards are the most fiercely contested: “Agency of the Year” and “Franchise of the Year”. We won the latter last year. Agency of the Year was a bit further behind us, in 2012.
The director of UNIGLOBE Holland took the floor himself for the final two awards, and by the first two sentences, we began to believe that we would be the winner. And indeed! We were able to accept this award for 2017 once again. How happy and proud we were! Earned by the entire team: some 40 employees, and it is to them that we have dedicated the award once again. What a cracking team we've got!
When things calmed down a bit again, we started the cooking workshop. People worked hard at the large gas stoves, supported by a master chef. Afterwards, we enjoyed our self-prepared 4-course menu. It was delicious!
The day flew by. We look back on a fantastic day and are extremely proud of the awards we won. See you next year!
