If someone had told us a year ago that we would currently only be able to run limited live events and incentive travel, we wouldn't have believed it. Yet here we are, and we at goMICE are also adapting to this extraordinary situation. People regularly ask me: how are things at goMICE and what are you currently up to? These are questions we are more than happy to answer and explain. That is why, in this blog, I'll take you through our current day-to-day work at goMICE in our series: The week of….
Monday: online team meeting and a studio visit to one of our AV suppliers
We are starting this week as usual with our team meeting. Every week we discuss the work with our team, review the planned projects and check the current situations per country where necessary. Our team meeting is currently not possible in person and therefore we speak to each other via online platforms and therefore regularly choose to test different platforms. In this way we can immediately see the functionalities per platform and increase our knowledge.
In the afternoon a visit is planned to one of our Audio Visual suppliers. I am going to visit a couple of studios and discuss the possibilities for organising online and hybrid events for our clients. Because in a time where face-to-face meetings are not always possible, how do you ensure that you still keep your business relations and employees involved and connected? This can be achieved by moving your meeting from offline to hybrid or online! Over the past period, we at goMICE have worked intensively on this and explored the possibilities for our clients. Tuesday: a day full of inspiration, information and developments
There are countless possibilities to meet your target audiences in a virtual environment in which you stimulate, inspire or inform them. goMICE knows the market and we collaborate with you to steer your virtual meeting in the right direction and, with our knowledge and creativity, turn it into a special and impactful moment. We have therefore spoken to many of our suppliers online, followed webinars and, where possible, made a live visit.
Today another 3 online meetings are planned. We are participating in this meeting with our team and gathering as much information as possible. Today we are speaking to an AV supplier, an online team-building supplier (where as a team we will get a demo of a great online escape room) and we are speaking to one of our regular venue partners. This way we will see each other as a team all morning. Nice and informative.
In addition, we have been working on expanding our goMICE concept plan. This is an all-encompassing concept designed to create even more of an experience for your event or trip within the MICE sector. Wednesday: organising spectacular live events and incentive trips for 2021 & 2022
This morning I have been in frequent contact with my colleague Lotte. For a number of our clients we are currently working on the development of a live event, but we are also working on incentive travel for 2021 and even for 2022. Marvellous to be involved in this. For our client's live event, we are intensively engaged in the further development of the theme we have carefully chosen (of course in consultation with our client) and we are further coordinating all surrounding facets. It is going to be spectacular, exciting and exceed all expectations. You will soon read more about this event!
I spend the afternoon together with my two daughters. Wednesday afternoon is always play and sports afternoon. It is dry and sunny so we are heading outside to enjoy ourselves.
Thursday: to the office, new goMICE website & sports trip to Istanbul
Besides all these online meetings with each other, fortunately there are also moments when we see each other in person, for example at the office. Naturally, with the necessary measures taken into account.
I regularly cycle to the office, as I did today. Along the way, I think ahead about the schedule for today and prepare myself for the planned photo shoot. The goMICE website will soon be completely revamped, which also means that the necessary content needs to be supplied. Armed with a camera and the right lighting, we will make sure everyone looks their best.
The past few months have been, and continue to be, all about communication with our clients and suppliers at goMICE. We are in frequent contact to follow up on all planned trips and events as effectively as possible. A number of trips are still planned for 2020, including ones for our regular clients in top-level sport. In the afternoon, I discuss the booking for next week with my colleague Rosa. This concerns a sports trip to Istanbul for the professional team ahead of the European Championship qualifiers in 2021. Naturally, we are liaising closely with our client regarding all the aspects involved.
Friday: proactive customer contact
The weeks are flying by and today it is already Friday again. Today I am working from home and regularly liaising with the team to go over the work. If we notice that we need to switch gear or intervene for an event/trip, we do so and proactively contact our clients. Collaborating and consulting with our clients and suppliers is of great importance to us. We also notice that this is very much appreciated. Today, therefore, a meeting is scheduled with one of our clients to further discuss and flesh out their trip for 2021. How we are going to develop and follow up on this will keep our next Blogs keep an eye on the website.
