Group trip to Lisbon
For our client, we were once again given the opportunity to organise a group trip to Lisbon. We reached an agreement on the destination of Lisbon fairly quickly. It was to be a group trip for two groups.
We were once again looking forward to organising these 2 enjoyable group trips. The one group of 70 people always consists of petrol station employees, supplemented by some head office managers, and the other group consists of about fifty dealers (independent entrepreneurs), supplemented by head office management and directors.
Before the actual trip, we did a pre-inspection. You can read the blog about it here: Pre-inspection Lisbon: How do we proceed?
Two group trips to Lisbon
The first group always departs for the destination for 3 days and the second group for 4 days. For the latter group, we can therefore supplement the programme with a day “outside” the city.
The party always starts at Schiphol, where we welcome everyone at a set meeting point and tick them off as present. This time, too, we see many familiar faces, and it does us good when people are happy to see us again.
“At Schiphol, we already ensure that everything is arranged down to the finest detail.”
Once everyone has checked in, we will meet each other again on the other side of security. First, we will grab a sandwich and coffee using the voucher provided by us. You can use the vouchers to buy something to eat or drink at various locations in the departure hall.
Before long it'll be time to board. While still answering many questions along the way and reassuring people here and there who are afraid of flying, we take our seats on the plane.
Group trip to Lisbon
Arriving in Lisbon, we quickly spot our colleague and the three of us ensure that everyone can find the buses, in order to travel to the city as soon as possible, with the first destination being: Belém. Along the way, we make sure that everyone already gets a bit of an impression of the city.
Belém is known as one of the oldest parts of the city and is actually a village within a city. Belém is known for the pastéis, sweet tarts with a little custard inside. And of course we will make a stop at the one and only pastéis Pastéis de Belém, since 1837 that has been one of the most famous sweets from Portuguese cuisine and the original recipe is secret. It is always very busy there, especially at the weekend. They produce no fewer than 10,000 pieces a day! There are always long queues, but of course we had booked in advance, meaning we could walk straight in.

Following this welcome stop, everyone was ready to head to the hotel. As always, the Tivoli Lisboa hotel provided a WOW effect once again. Furthermore, everyone was very curious about the rooftop bar, because I had told them that I had often met celebrities there, including Cristiano Ronaldo recently. We had planned the welcome drinks on the rooftop.

The best 5-star hotel in Lisbon
In our opinion, Hotel Tivoli Lisboa is the best 5-star hotel in Lisbon, located right in the heart of the centre. All the restaurants we have selected are within walking distance of this hotel, which also makes such a trip logistically appealing. And a walk along the Avenida da Liberdade is no hardship anyway.
Group trip to Lisbon, restaurants selected by us
We had again selected a number of culinary gems, including Leao D’Ouro (authentic and delicious dishes), Zambeze (fantastic food and beautiful views) and Petit Palais, recently opened, a little palace just around the corner from the hotel, where you are also treated to cabaret. You could easily imagine yourself in the Moulin Rouge. The food is of 7-star standard and so we had planned our final evening here.

Activities during the group trip to Lisbon
During a group trip to Lisbon, it is important to go all out in terms of activities. We have organised the following activities:
- A ride on the old trams could not, of course, be missed

- A cycle ride

- A tapas-making contest

- A city tour with the talking go-karts

The city tour with the talking gocarts was certainly the most talked-about of all the activities.
After 4 wonderful days, everyone came to the conclusion once again that it had been a fantastic group trip, and the management and board were unanimous: no evaluation was planned this time, because in their opinion everything had been rated as excellent. That just makes me so happy! Because all the effort is rewarded and such a compliment is the icing on the cake for me.
