CASE: Celebrate your anniversary in sunny Valencia too! – Anniversary Trip Valencia
For our client's centenary anniversary, Nadia and Jade travelled with a group of 150 people in May to the city of art and science: Valencia. This beautiful and sunny city, located on the coast of Spain, has virtually all the ingredients for a successful anniversary trip. In this case study, we take you along on our journey to this delightful Spanish destination!
Day 1: a day full of (culinary) discoveries!
We set off early in the morning in two groups from Schiphol and Eindhoven Airport bound for Valencia. Upon arrival, a walking tour was planned to explore the city's old centre. Various local guides took us through the small, picturesque streets and were able to tell us all about the city's history. Along the way we made several stops, including one at a local café where we tasted horchata with farton; a local delicacy and indeed very popular among the locals. In between, a light shower came down, so we quickly ducked into one of the largest and oldest covered market halls in Europe: Mercado Central. With an endless number of stalls and stands full of Spanish delicacies, the group gazed in wonder.
Following this, a tasty lunch was served at a restaurant with a wonderful view over the Plaza Ayuntamiento (Valencia's largest square, surrounded by imposing buildings). After lunch, the local guides took us further to explore the city, this time by bicycle! By then it had completely cleared up, allowing the group to fully enjoy the Spanish sun. Cycling along, they came across all sorts of unique and hidden spots that you as a tourist wouldn't normally easily see, which is precisely what makes the activity so enjoyable!
The day was concluded with a walking cocktail dinner on the outdoor terrace of the gourmet restaurant Contrapunto Les Arts, a truly magnificent location overlooking the characteristic architecture of the City of Arts and Sciences. An absolute must-visit in Valencia!
Day 2: a taste of Valencia’s wine, traditional dishes, nature & trendy nightlife!
The second day of the anniversary trip to Valencia started with optional activities! For instance, part of the group visited a beautiful vineyard for an exclusive wine tour and tasting! Another option was to visit the birthplace of paella: the unique and wondrous nature reserve of Albufera. With a boat trip on the lake, an Agua de Valencia workshop and a paella show cooking, this is a real must during a trip to Valencia.
Following this lovely day, the group enjoyed an extensive dinner at Valencia's hotspot: Marina Beach Club Restaurant, exclusively hired out for the group with a view of the club and the beach, after which many of us carried on partying here into the small hours.
Day 3: Concluding lunch and return journey to the Netherlands
The final day in Valencia had already arrived. After a relaxed free morning, we gathered one last time to celebrate the anniversary and conclude the trip during an informal lunch featuring a variety of bites and drinks in the hotel's courtyard. A toast was also proposed here, and we received a tremendous round of applause for organising an “unforgettable anniversary trip that will be talked about for a long time to come”. It is precisely moments like these that we do it for and that give us the most energy.
Over the course of the day, we flew back to Amsterdam and Eindhoven in 3 different groups, with a fantastic weekend to look back on and a very successful incentive! The thorough preparation process, the great collaboration with our agents and of course the enthusiastic participants ensured that this trip went extremely well.
