Organising a last-minute multi-day event
Events are often booked a long time in advance. In the weeks or even months leading up to the event, we are energetically busy putting together the perfect programme, where no detail is overlooked.
Sometimes, however, things go slightly differently, and an event is booked at the very last minute. This was the case last month, at the end of August. For one of our regular clients, Domino's Pizza Rotterdam, we had the pleasure of organising a programme to Ibiza. Their targets had been met, and they wanted to reward their staff with a multi-day event in Ibiza. They wanted to depart just two weeks after receiving the request, but thanks to our excellent local contacts, we were able to organise everything perfectly for them: a beautiful 4-star hotel, pleasant restaurants, and a fantastic activity: a trip to Formentera by speedboat.

Unfortunately, the “code orange advice” from the Dutch government threw a spanner in the works, and an alternative had to be devised within 3 days of commencement. All suppliers in Ibiza were informed, and the entire goMICE team brainstormed a replacement destination within the Netherlands. Within a few hours, we proposed a varied programme at three locations in the Netherlands, with a diverse range of hotels, activities, and restaurants.

Ultimately, the choice fell upon the always cosy and atmospheric South Limburg, with Maastricht as our base. The decision was made on Monday afternoon, and in record time the entire programme was finalised and all the details were discussed. Less than 24 hours later, everything for this group was arranged down to the last detail and they received, as “the cherry on top”, our Travel app offered. The app contains all necessary travel information, destination information, hotel details, and the entire itinerary. It is also possible to upload photos amongst yourselves within the app. Furthermore, the app is invitation-only, meaning only participants of the trip or event can access it.
