Winter incentive travel destination: Dubai in focus! – part 4

Winter incentive travel destination: Dubai highlighted!

In this final part of my Dubai blog series, I will share two more must-visit restaurants and a location for a closing dinner for a group or incentive trip. Restaurants with which we have very good contacts and love taking our groups to. Success guaranteed...

Must experience restaurant: SUSHISAMBA Dubai

Restaurant SUSHISAMBA belongs to a chain that includes a restaurant in London (which is also great, by the way). Phenomenally located in Dubai on the 51st floor of the St Regis hotel with a 360-degree panoramic view of the iconic Palm Jumeirah coastline, the Arabian Gulf, Ain Dubai and the Dubai skyline. Two high-speed lifts take guests to a height of 230 metres, where you step out into the highest restaurant on Palm Jumeirah!

The striking interior is framed by an extensive 3D-printed ceiling installation – intricate woodwork inspired by Japanese and Brazilian weaving traditions. Warm, deliberate lighting illuminates this masterpiece, ensuring that the dishes take centre stage and reflections across the immaculate skyline are kept to a minimum. At the heart of the dining room is an open theatre-style kitchen featuring an energetic robata grill and a sushi bar. From Japanese tempura and sushi, and Brazilian churrasco and moqueca, to Peruvian anticuchos and ceviches: the culinary creativity is boundless with something for everyone! The open kitchen and fiery robata grill offer fantastically roasted and flavoured meats, vegetables and fish, while SUSHISAMBA’s conceptual small plates service encourages a sharing dining experience. A true must-experience, this TOP restaurant!

Must experience restaurant: Il Borro – Tuscan Bistro

Il Borro is one of the latest additions to Jumeirah and I fell in love with it straight away. Situated in the turtle lagoon at Jumeirah Al Naseem, Il Borro provides the perfect backdrop for the best healthy Tuscan cuisine in Dubai. The food is divine and, once again, the service is sublime. You are immersed in a unique waterfront atmosphere which leads to an authentic dining experience in an elegant, refined ambience. All the dishes are truly a feast for the eyes, but even more so for the palate, of course. Il Borro is known as one of the best cheesecake makers in the world and we certainly tasted that. Truly DIVINE. The waiter then indicated that it could be even better and brought mango ice cream with it. Well, what a sensational combination that was!

Bottega Dubai

Yet another tip to conclude your group and/or incentive trip. It is often the case that such a trip concludes at a lovely location with delicious food and a final drink, followed by the transfer to the airport and everyone parting ways. It can be done differently! At Dubai Airport, alongside the “regular” restaurants, there is also a hidden gem to create a final gathering in a bodega that is completely different from the other providers: Restaurant Bottega! An Italian bodega, with its origins and wine farm about 50 kilometres away from Venice.

By the way, we also frequently include this winery when we put together a programme for a trip to Venice. Next week I will be in Venice to carry out an inspection there too for a number of upcoming group trips, and I will certainly be visiting this winery as well. I cannot wait to meet the owners again and to taste their new creations. In my next blog I will take you with me to Venice and its surrounding area. Also one of my dream destinations (also for great incentive programmes) where I can completely lose myself in the lovely little streets and everything that Venice has to offer. It is often thought that Venice only has crowds to offer, but we know how to find the “quiet” spots, where groups are entirely in their element and we can show the participants a completely different side of Venice. La dolce vita!

Winter incentive reisbestemming: Dubai uitgelicht! - Bottega

Anyway, back to Bottega at Dubai airport. This is where we bring groups who still want to spend some time together at the airport to round the whole trip off. Naturally, the wines are exquisite, but the dishes are fantastic too. And that is usually rather different at most airport restaurants. Delicious Italian dishes are served, and the menu recommends a specific wine for each dish. The participants are completely taken by surprise by such a lovely venue, making the trip truly complete. Be sure to also take a look at dog site.
