The week of Project Manager Lotte
Week 47 – 2017. Inside ‘the week of’ The Project Managers, and other team members, from goMICE share their (work)week in a new blog. This week, you get to look and read along with the week of goMICE Project Manager Lotte!
Monday
It's the first day of the working week but already the third day of the five-day inspection trip that Anita and I are on together. Anita and I already set off on Saturday for various destinations!
We are currently already busy preparing for big Group holidays which will take place in 2018 and for this reason we are visiting a number of European destinations. Which destinations these are we are keeping secret for now, you'll hear more about that soon. A little hint: we are enjoying the lovely autumn sunshine very much!
Tuesday
During this inspection trip, we are visiting a large number of restaurants, among other things. We are also revisiting restaurants that we already know, and of course, there is extensive tasting everywhere (what a dreadful job we have!). It is very important that restaurants meet the quality that goMICE expects from suppliers. For example, a restaurant that was highly regarded last year might have hired a new, less competent head chef. Check, check, double-check! Lunch at this restaurant was very enjoyable!
Wednesday
It's already the last day of the inspection trip. We'll do one more loop in an open Beetle through the beautiful old town before the plane brings us back home. Tired but satisfied, we arrive back in Rotterdam in the evening.
Thursday
Today I'm back at the office again! The sun is unfortunately shining a lot less enthusiastically here in the Netherlands. Our office is located in the World Port Center on Wilhelminakade in Rotterdam, so during my break from the top floor, I can enjoy a beautiful view.
At the office, the phone is constantly ringing and it's nice and busy, time is flying. Next week we're organising a big Sinterklaas party for one of our regular clients where approximately 150 children and parents will be present. In the afternoon, I'll be dotting the i's and crossing the t's. In the meantime, my colleagues and I will be emptying a large bag of pepernoten.
Friday
Another last day of the week, it's flown by!
After a busy day, I'm shutting down the computer and heading to the AFAS Live in Amsterdam where the band Nothing but Thieves is performing tonight. A great start to the weekend!
