Case: an unforgettable anniversary trip to Malta
This year, our client from the retail sector opted for a jubilee trip to Malta, a surprising choice given that the island is still relatively unknown to many organisations. Despite limited flight connections between Amsterdam and Malta, the client decided to explore this charming island, and we at goMICE had the honour of organising this special trip! Preparation and departure
With a group of 70 enthusiastic travellers, we began the meticulous preparation for the anniversary trip to Malta. The participants had various options to personalise their trip: arriving earlier, departing later, and a choice of departure from Amsterdam, Brussels, or Düsseldorf. To ensure everything was arranged to perfection, our client's board undertook an inspection trip to Malta, despite the unfavourable weather conditions that Malta was experiencing at the time. They were determined to explore all locations to guarantee the best possible experience for the group. This certainly succeeded!
Arrival in Malta
At the end of September, the time came: the travellers departed for sunny Malta. Upon arrival, a warm welcome awaited them with temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius. Our base was the luxurious Westin Hotel in St. Julians, ideally located on a beautiful bay.
The anniversary trip to Malta began with a boat trip in colourful Luzzu boats, followed by a visit to Valletta where we were treated to a welcome drink. Activities that followed included a buggy tour and a crossing to Gozo.
Cultural evenings and unique experiences
One of the highlights was the evening visit to Mdina, the ‘silent city’, which was enchanting with a specially organised concert within the cathedral walls. We continued the evening at a hidden palace with live music, which made the experience even more magical.
The anniversary trip concluded with a grand party on a Gullet boat, where everyone enjoyed music, water sports, and an extensive lunch buffet. This day was made extra special by the enthusiastic DJ, who really got the party going.
Reflections on the Anniversary Trip to Malta
Thanks to our client's adventurous choice to explore Malta, they discovered a hidden gem within Europe, ideal for unique and memorable trips. Malta might be a lesser-known destination, but it turned out to be the perfect location for an unforgettable anniversary trip. Until next year!
