Monday
After a wonderfully sunny weekend, everyone is ready for a fresh and new working week. Even though it is the last week before the summer holidays start, we still have plenty of great things planned for this week.
Today we are busy fine-tuning a high-end programme for Dubai. A fantastic incentive destination with many possibilities. Think of a scenic flight by seaplane, a visit to the Burj Khalifa and dining in various great restaurants with phenomenal views!
Tuesday
Today, I cycled to work once again. As long as the fine weather holds out, a 30-minute bike ride is no chore and I enjoy the city of Rotterdam. On the way to work, I am already making a to-do list in my head for that day, so that I can get straight to work upon arrival at the office.
A maritime exhibition is taking place shortly for which we are accommodating a large group in Hamburg. They are actually all individual bookings from different companies that we are accommodating as a group. Long live Excel spreadsheets! In these we keep track of everything meticulously and can provide all hotels with the correct rooming list at the touch of a button.
In the afternoon I have another appointment with one of our suppliers who is bringing a fantastically beautiful and healthy package.
Wednesday
Wednesday morning I work from home. Alongside all operational matters, we are also always busy innovating our systems and working methods. Do these still meet our needs and what do we need to adjust to be able to work more efficiently? Together with my colleagues, we regularly brainstorm about these kinds of matters and are busy putting our formulated plan into action.
This afternoon, my eldest daughter's birthday party is scheduled. Wednesday afternoons are always a joy together with my 5 and 8-year-old daughters!
Thursday
The work and assignments at goMICE are growing and that means that we are looking for new colleagues. This morning, Anita and I have a job interview. Naturally, we hope to be able to add a new colleague to our hardworking and friendly team soon.
The rest of the day is mainly dedicated to getting all the departing groups travelling with us this summer in order. Together with the project managers, I discuss these trips and we dot the i's and cross the t's. Throughout the year, people travel extensively via goMICE. This is also true for the summer period, when we transport many sports teams and music bands to locations all over the world!
Friday
At goMICE, we find it important that our project managers increase their experience and knowledge.
We regularly carry out pre-checks and/or personally accompany our MICE trips, but visiting the destination ourselves is certainly just as important. In doing so, we provide on-the-job training and coaching, meet our suppliers and put together a programme that showcases the unique tax incentive must imitate.
Preparations have started and soon we'll be visiting a city over the weekend. And which one that will be... that remains a surprise for a bit! To be continued.
