An unforgettable incentive trip to Barcelona
Around three months ago, we received an enquiry for a trip to Barcelona. The founder of a large IT company was stepping down from the business and, as a thank you, wanted to surprise a number of employees with an unforgettable trip to Barcelona.
Given that the trip was due to take place within 2.5 months, we pulled out all the stops to make it happen on such short notice. We managed to put together a fantastic two-day programme that fully met the client's wishes. When we wanted to put the final touches to everything about two weeks in advance, we received a call from the client asking if we could bring the trip forward by a day due to personal circumstances of one of the travellers. Naturally, we immediately started coordinating with our suppliers and after a day of intensive contact with all parties, we managed to change the dates of the entire trip, including the hotel! That is the kind of thing we often do for last-minute challenges for which we will find a solution.
Two weeks later, the group departed for Barcelona. I met them at the gate at Schiphol to then accompany them throughout the entire trip and ensure that everything went perfectly. With the exception of our client and his wife, the entire programme was still a surprise to the group.
Exceptionally luxurious dining and overnight stay
From Barcelona airport, I led the group to the 5-star hotel: W-Barcelona. A fantastic hotel in a gorgeous location. The sun was shining, so it was a lovely start to the day. After a welcome drink, we set off.
We visited a viewpoint with a magnificent view over Barcelona and its surroundings. Afterwards, we took the cable car to our lunch restaurant for a delicious three-course lunch.
An afternoon visit to the impressive Sagrada Familia could of course not be missed. In between, I was in regular contact with the various locations and our driver to ensure the group didn't have to wait anywhere and could make the most of everything.
Delicious drinks with an incredible view
The evening began with a drink at Eclipse: a trendy club located on the 26th floor of the hotel. We had managed to arrange with the hotel for a section of the club to be reserved for our group, which is exceptional as this normally involves high costs. Thanks to our negotiations, the reservation fee for us was zero!
To top it all off, three limousines pulled up shortly afterwards, in which the group was taken in style to a 3-star restaurant!
The biggest surprise …
The following day, another surprise awaited the group: a helicopter flight over Barcelona! The group was struck dumb and visibly enjoyed this fantastic flight. After a delicious lunch, we visited Camp Nou, the stadium of FC Barcelona. The day was concluded with a lovely drink and traditional Spanish tapas.
