Mallorca incentive trip
You might not immediately think of Mallorca for your next incentive travel, event destination. However, that's not entirely justified. We at goMICE bring many groups to Mallorca. The reasons for the trip are diverse:
- Sometimes there's something to celebrate within the company, such as a reward for team performance;
- Staff training;
- a combination of incentive and training.
A combination of an incentive and training also occurs regularly. This type of trip is often a registration trip arranged by academies that provide training within a particular sector. For example, we have been organising trips for an academy within the dental sector for many years. Dentists are their clients, and these dentists have their assistants retrained or upskilled. Our client takes a number of assistants on a trip once a year.
Where paths cross
It's nice to mention how contact with this client came about. Five years ago, I was with another project manager and a group in Ibiza. On the way to Ibiza, we were on the plane with the client in question and thus the participants. Not knowing at the time that they would eventually book their trip with us, we did have some contact then. On the island itself, we also ran into the participants a few times and spoke about their programme and ours.
By chance, I was sitting next to a participant on the return flight and we got talking. We really hit it off. We had a very enjoyable conversation and, above all, had a lot of fun. We talked about all our experiences. At the end of the conversation (before we knew it, we'd landed back in Amsterdam), we exchanged business cards. She said she would give our contact details to the organising party and would push for a meeting. The reason was that, on the one hand, I had spoken so enthusiastically about what we at goMICE stand for, and on the other hand, she had apparently been impressed by everything we had done in Ibiza. She found that inspiring.
And so it happened! We quickly came into contact with the client and have been organising their group trips this way for five years now. It's wonderful how things can work out!
Back from Mallorca
Mallorca has been a popular Spanish incentive destination for years. This largest island of the Balearics is full of surprises. Kilometres of sandy beaches, small streams, green nature, the Tramuntana Mountain ranges and the cosy capital Palma de Mallorca ensure a varied destination on Spanish soil. Palma de Mallorca is the ‘little Barcelona’ with its own Ramblas, a large marina and a mix of hip hotels and trendy restaurants. The cathedral La Seu from the 13e Eeuw belongs to one of the most beautiful churches in Spain. And the Mediterranean climate also ensures pleasant temperatures!

- A hotel where they could provide training (not all hotels are suitable for this, but they certainly exist);
- A number of really fun activities.;
- A visit to a club;
- An active workshop.
All in all, this is a client who has been entrusting their travel arrangements to us with complete peace of mind for 5 years now, and apparently for good reason.
