A winter sports incentive organised by goMICE!
From our office in Rotterdam, we organise MICE on a daily basis with great enthusiasm: Meetings, incentives, concepts and EventsAt goMICE, February and March are always largely dedicated to various winter sports incentives for our clients.
Every participant in such a winter sports incentive often has a preference for an area to go skiing. It is often a challenge to choose the right one, at least for our clients, but not for us as goMICE!
What makes a ski trip incentive truly successful? We believe it is a combination of the following factors:
- Sun and good snow
- Fun
- Lots of good and varied pistes
- Cosy atmosphere
- And of course delicious food and drink
A perfect destination for a winter sports incentive
We think you can find all of the above factors in Tyrol! But not in Austria, actually in Italy. We are referring to South Tyrol. goMICE regularly organises winter sports incentives to this region. We like to choose Val Gardena in the Dolomites.
goMICE winter sports incentive
Many people don't know the ski resort of Val Gardena and that surprises us! This is truly a top-class resort! Val Gardena is located near Bolzano in Trentino, just across the border with Austria, in Italy.
It is about a 1,000 km drive from the Netherlands. But flying is also possible. goMICE takes care of the organisation regarding the group flight tickets completely off your hands. If you want to fly to this region, you fly to Innsbruck. With a taxi from the airport, you will be in the winter sports village of Ortisei or Selva within 1.5 hours!
Winter sports incentive to Val Gardena
The Val Gardena region used to belong to Austria, but in 1919 this area was annexed by Italy after the First World War. As a result, Italian cuisine is blended with Austrian hospitality and warmth. As far as I am concerned, an ideal combination!
Activities during the winter sports incentive trip to Val Gardena
Inside this area there is loads to see and do! We have highlighted a few:
- The area covers a staggering piste length of approx. 500 km!
- You will find one of the longest descents in the world there: La Longia (approx. 12 km descent from the top of the Seceda), followed by a nice lunch or après-ski at Frau Anna at the bottom of the piste.
- Skiing around the “Sella Group” mountain massif – the Sella Ronda (clockwise and anti-clockwise as a day trip, highly recommended!)
- Around the Sella Ronda there are even more ski areas that you can also visit. The most famous is undoubtedly the Marmolada (Arabba), see also the video below.
- A fun, hilarious activity is skiing to Alta Badia (which takes about half a day), having lunch down at the bottom, and then being towed back up behind a horse and carriage with your skis on
- Then there is also the Saslong, known from international ski competitions
- The village of Selva lies in the heart of the ski resort and has a very lively après-ski
- And of course, going tobogganing after dinner is great fun!
