Anniversary trip to magical Edinburgh!
For the 50th anniversary of one of our clients, goMICE Lotte, Elsbeth & Dian travelled to beautiful Scotland in September with around 200 people! A Southern European destination is frequently chosen, making it all the more enjoyable that we were once again able to showcase the beauty of Scotland in this fantastic travel programme. In this blog, we take you along on the complete trip to fairytale Edinburgh!
Exclusive charter flight, Edinburgh Castle and traditional dinner
The anniversary trip started early in the morning at Eindhoven Airport, from where the exclusive charter flight to Edinburgh departed. Once arrived at Edinburgh Airport, the group was festively welcomed by two bagpipers and escorted to the coaches that took us to the trendy lunch location Browns brought. A lovely restaurant in the city centre, within walking distance of the famous Edinburgh Castle. A unique castle that towers high above the city and gives you a true Harry Potter feel! After lunch, a tour of this 17the-century castle planned; a must when you are in Edinburgh. Finally, the day was concluded with a traditional fish and chips dinner, after which the group headed out independently to experience Scottish nightlife.
Highland Games and dinner at iconic location
Awaken the warrior within! The second day of travel was all about the Highland Games: traditional clan games from the Scottish Highlands. A fantastic teambuilding activity that is already great fun with small groups, but truly next-level with larger groups. And so we travelled with the entire group to a magnificent estate, where everyone was hoisted into a kilt and clan games such as tossing the caber, weight for height, highland dancing and tossing the welly were played in various clans (teams). It was truly a fantastic day! The sun was shining brightly, the team spirit radiated all around and the estate provided the complete Scottish experience. After the games, and a whisky shot 😉, it was time for a well-deserved barbecue lunch and a free afternoon!
’In the evening, a closing dinner was scheduled at a WOW venue in Edinburgh; an iconic landmark with a wonderful atmosphere! Upon arrival, everyone was given a glass of bubbly to toast the 50th anniversary and the fond memories that had already been created together over the past few days. It was a truly golden day!
Scottish optional activities and return journey
On the final day of the trip, participants could choose from various morning activities. For instance, they could choose a sporty, cultural or food-oriented activity. After the morning full of fun and lunch at your own leisure, it was already time to head towards the airport.
During the trip, the participants showed us in every way how much they enjoyed the journey, and afterwards we received a gorgeous bouquet of flowers at our office. Our client's 50th corporate anniversary was celebrated in a memorable way; a shared experience that will be talked about for a long time to come!
