Versatile city break destination for groups: Valencia!
Last May, we had the pleasure of organising an unforgettable trip to the beautiful city of Valencia. This Spanish city has so much to offer and is known for its wonderful blend of a charming old town, an expansive beach, the best paellas, comfortable cycling routes and extraordinary modern museums. By now, we know Valencia inside out and, once again, we put together a unique travel programme for our client! In this blog, I, Project Manager Nadia, will take you on a virtual journey to the sunny orange city!
Rooftop cocktail-diner
The trip kicked off with an afternoon flight, followed by a short transfer to the 5-star hotel where the group stayed. Completely in style, a welcome cocktail dinner was ready and waiting on the cool rooftop. A wonderful moment to get to (know) each other better while enjoying a bite and a drink. The atmosphere was convivial and relaxed; a great start to the trip!

Valencia, the sunny seaside city!
The second day began wonderfully with a clear blue sky, a pleasant temperature and an extensive breakfast. After breakfast, a local guide was ready to take the group to the L’Albufera nature reserve, located just outside the city. In this nature park you will find the largest lake in Spain, a wide variety of birds and picturesque villages. But there is something the park is primarily known for: paella! And that is precisely what we had in store for the group... At the edge of the lake, a traditional fishing boat was waiting, on which the group enjoyed a lovely trip across the water to the location where a paella cooking class would take place: an enchanting spot by an authentic barraca. Here, paella pans were ready for groups to prepare this traditional Spanish dish together. Which team makes the best paella?! The chef looked at the results with a critical eye and made his decision. Following the workshop, everyone enjoyed all the delicious food at a beautifully laid table.
In a charming courtyard, the tables were neatly laid for a tasteful dinner that evening. Everyone enjoyed the diverse dishes and each other's company. Afterwards, they danced the night away at a nearby club.

Rolling through Valencia
Day three was all about discovering the city during a 3-hour bike ride. The guides showed the nicest spots in the city, including the impressive cathedral in the old centre and the Museo de las Ciencias in the futuristic-looking City of Arts and Sciences. Along the way, a refreshing local delicacy was ready for the participants: Horchata! A creamy, milky drink made from tiger nuts, water and sugar. Super tasty! The tour ended at the beach, where lunch was served with a sea view. This was followed by a free afternoon for the participants, who still had the tour bikes at their disposal.

Michelin-starred dinner in a stellar location
To conclude these wonderful days, a special dinner was of course a must! The final dinner took place at La Salita. Masterchef Begoña Rodrigo, known in Spain from the TV programme Top Chef, leads this Michelin-starred restaurant. Located in the Ruzafa district, the restaurant features a wonderful inner courtyard where the group was welcomed with a refreshing drink and the most delicious culinary bites. As an extra WOW moment, the group was surprised by a spectacular flamenco performance. The performance was very impressive and even moved several participants to tears! Wonderful to see how we get to organise such memorable moments for people. The dishes that the chef subsequently served at the table were sublime! Afterwards, she received a big round of applause from the group. Following a final wonderful (yet short) night at the hotel, the transfer to the airport followed. This brought an end to a delightful and special trip that will be talked about for a long time to come.
