A ski incentive trip to Gerlos
The goMICE team has once again hosted various groups over the past period winter sports incentive sent. Skiing is usually possible until Easter, but due to the notorious “foehn wind” in the Alps, it looks like the season will be virtually over almost everywhere by early April. Last week I was nevertheless with a group in Austria, specifically in the Zillertal Arena (Gerlos / Königsleiten and Zell am Ziller). Late March is indeed a top week weather-wise, although you do need a bit of luck. At any rate, we had completely clear blue skies, little wind and therefore plenty of sun!

On a ski incentive trip with a group of 40 people
We had travelled to Austria with a group of about 40 people from a major investment bank in the Netherlands. The purpose of the trip was to go skiing together for a few days after hitting our targets to celebrate our success. The participants themselves still made a small personal contribution.
Ski Incentive Trip via Rotterdam Airport to Gerlos
The arrival was on Sunday and departure was scheduled for Wednesday morning. The flight with Transavia from Rotterdam was ideal! We departed at 12:30 and the whole group was already at the ski rental in Gerlos by 15:00. We chose Gerlos because, on the one hand, it is an area with very reliable snow conditions, but also because the size of the area is perfect for 2 full days of skiing. In addition, Gerlos also has a great nightlife scene!

The ski incentive programme
On Monday morning at 08:30 sharp we were at the lift to hit the freshly prepared slopes. Everyone had been provided with a good map of the area and the corresponding programme for that day. Getting up early during such a trip is sometimes a challenge, but once in the fresh mountain air with almost nobody on the pistes, everyone quickly forgets the (too) cosy evening before.

Après-ski in Gerlos
We had organised a programme with a ski instructor for Monday morning so that everyone could explore the area with the instructor. This was optional and some participants chose to explore the wonderful area without the ski instructor's programme. At 15:00 that day, the whole group gathered at the well-known Apres-Ski Bar “Seppies”, where the DJ got a great atmosphere going for the entire group!
Around 17:00 we had planned the final valley descent. Once everyone is back down safely, we always have the Turbo Bar there where the last beers, wines, Flügels and Jägermeisters can be enjoyed before dinner!

The hotel during the ski incentive trip
We stayed in Hotel Schonruh, which is located right by the slopes. A wonderful 4-star hotel with a lovely sauna and swimming pool, welcoming staff, great service and also a good dinner!
Activities during the ski incentive trip
On the final day, early in the morning, we set out a course on the slopes where teams of four had to complete tasks using their smartphones. They also had to collect items that we had hidden here and there. The funny footage and tasks were gathered by goMICE and quickly put together into a great video compilation, which we were able to show to the group during drinks before dinner. That was also when the winners were announced! We also sometimes work with a Facebook page or a WhatsApp group in which we gather many fun and hilarious moments and compile them into a memento for the group.
A visit to the world-famous CinCin bar!
On the final day, a visit to the world-famous CinCin bar couldn't be missed, and so we finished off the last day of skiing right there in our ski boots!

Why a Ski Incentive Trip?
A skiing incentive trip is always excellent for team-building. This is because enjoyment, excitement and fun always go hand in hand. We’ve also noticed that everyone is always amazed by the stunning natural scenery in the mountains. After a few days, most people have run out of physical energy, but mentally, everyone can always recharge their batteries.
goMICE has extensive experience in organising ski incentive travel to various areas and always create a great, original programme around this. With our Digital Event Manager each participant registers easily and all data is perfectly managed. For this ski incentive trip, participants had to pay a small personal contribution. This was also easily done via this tool specially developed by goMICE. Much easier for the client!
Let's also brainstorm about a (ski) incentive trip to Gerlos or another great ski resort, such as Winterberg of South TyrolWell then, take it Contact up with the goMICE team.
